Dr. Gartrell has worked with attorneys on matters involving securities litigation, accounting practice and financial contracting. He has testified in administrative proceedings at the Securities and Exchange Commission and has served as an expert witness in matters before U.S. district courts. He has also managed projects to support teams of experts in large and complex litigation proceedings.

Prior to joining PHB, he taught corporate policy, business strategy, finance and accounting at the University of Akron, the Rochester Institute of Technology and the University of Rochester. Dr. Gartrell began his business career with the accounting firm Ernst & Ernst, progressing from staff to audit management positions.

Dr. Gartrell is a Certified Public Accountant. He holds an M.S. in accounting and a Ph.D. in business administration, both from Kent State University, and an M.B.A. in finance from the University of Rochester.
