Robert S. Faron
Principal

Robert Faron has more than twenty years of experience as a counselor in the environmental, energy and insurance fields. He focuses on strategic environmental management consulting services to improve operational efficiency, assists in strategic assessments of transactions and advises on integrating regulatory compliance with business objectives.

Before joining PHB, Mr. Faron practiced with a number of national law firms and was deputy assistant general counsel for environment at the Department of Energy. He also served as assistant general counsel for environmental affairs at Amerada Hess Corporation, a Fortune 100 company, where he recommended cost-effective strategies for compliance, assessed property transactions, implemented audit and compliance criteria and developed corporate environmental management systems.

While at the DOE, Mr. Faron counseled the "Tiger Team" auditing program, advised on environmental management contracting and facility divestitures and represented the DOE in settling the complex litigation at the Rocky Flats weapons production facility.

In his law practice in Washington, D.C., Mr. Faron litigated Superfund and RCRA cases and obtained insurance coverage for environmental claims. He also served on President Carter's Oil Pollution Prevention Task Force.

Mr. Faron received a B.S. in engineering from Princeton University and a J.D. from Columbia University Law School.
