Michael P. Bonchonsky
Senior Advisor

Michael Bonchonsky has more than twenty-five years of experience in environmental matters with a special emphasis on litigation, compliance and regulatory matters. His work has involved NPDES (water discharge) permits, RCRA matters, Superfund and remediation technologies and compliance audits. He has prepared training programs, served as an expert witness and lectured on a variety of environmental topics ranging from lender liability to tank removal procedures.

Mr. Bonchonsky was formerly a vice president of Metcalf & Eddy, Inc., directing operations and managing facility compliance with RCRA, SARA and related federal and state environmental regulations for its remediation operations.

He has also served in a number of capacities at the Environmental Protection Agency, including director and deputy director of the Enforcement Division (Region II); chief of the toxics control program (TSCA); and a range of program management posts covering RCRA, CERCLA and CWA. He also served as vice president of waste management services at a leading national consulting firm.

Mr. Bonchonsky received a B.S. in biology from the State University of New York, an M.S. in environmental science from the School of Civil Engineering, New York University and a J.D. from Seton Hall University Law School. He currently serves as senior vice president at Dewling Associates, Inc., as adjunct professor of environmental law at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and as adjunct at the School of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences of the City University of New York.
