Qualifications of the PHB Analyst
PHB is seeking college seniors and recent graduates with excellent academic records and strong communications skills. A quantitative background and coursework in economics is expected. Experience in mathematics, statistics, accounting, finance, engineering or operations management is also desireable. The position is ideal for the highly motivated individual who can thrive in a relatively non-hierarchical and non-structured environment. Opportunities for advancement depend on the individual's willingness to seek out and take on responsibility.
Most of the Analyst's training takes place whenever he/she begins work on a project; the first few weeks are often spent learning as much as possible about the industries and issues involved. Ongoing professional development takes place through a buddy system with a senior Analyst, an advisor program with a partner and informal training sessions.
The Analyst position is typically a two- to three-year position. Upon leaving PHB, most Analysts go on to earn graduate degrees in business, law, economics, or public policy at highly ranked schools.
